Blueprint & Bloom provides a fully comprehensive garden design service – perfect if you are looking to change your garden but don’t know where to start. Alternatively, you may know what you want from your new garden, but aren’t sure how to best achieve it. In both cases our design consultation process will help you realise your dream garden. The process involves these stages.
The purpose of the initial consultation is to establish what you really want from your garden. At the one hour meeting you can see our portfolio, tell us about your dream garden and discuss budgets and expenditure. The initial meeting is then followed up by a summary letter outlining the brief, the fees and the terms and conditions.
The survey and site analysis are necessary for us to produce a scaled plan of the existing garden. Simple sites are surveyed by the Blueprint & Blue team, although a more complex garden will require a professional land surveyor. This is an important stage as all calculations and dimensions for the new design will be based on this documentation.
A draft outline plan is then presented for discussion. This is an opportunity to discuss the proposals and for you to give your input. This may include scale sketches and drawings which will help you visualise your new garden.
Following approval of the draft plan a detailed final plan is produced. This is a full colour plan drawn to scale, showing all the aspects of the new design. It will detail all hard landscaping features, garden structures and planted areas.
Carefully selected plants will enhance the enjoyment of your garden. A scaled planting plan is produced at this stage, detailing all the plant varieties, their quantities and spacing, and including a plant schedule. This will allow all the plants within the new design to be correctly located.
If you are going to use a Landscape contractor to build your new garden, the following stages will be crucial.
These are technical drawings, including Setting Out plans which will assist the Landscape Contractor to build the garden.
If you wish to put the landscape contract out to competitive tender we can provide detailed written specifications. We can assist you with the tendering process by preparing all the necessary documentation and, if required, we can act as your representative on site during the garden build.
It may not be full garden design that you are looking for. Perhaps you are just looking for a little help with some aspects of your garden. If, for example, you only want to improve the planting in your garden, we offer a planting service. This can involve a total redesign of your current borders, or detailed recommendations and advice regarding supplementary planting.
The first planting service visit would be to discuss your garden and look at the problem areas. Following this a written proposal outlining our plans and detailing all costs will be sent to you.
We then produce a scaled planting plan detailing quantities of plants and their exact location within the garden, along with a full plant schedule.
Finally, Blueprint & Bloom can assist you with the sourcing of quality plants from our preferred nurseries.
